Dr. Thomas is passionate about providing excellent comprehensive dental care that is both comfortable and personal for patients. She completed her dental training at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and has since been caring for patients at the Prairie Trails Family Dental Clinic in Chariton. Her goal is to provide quality care, close to home, for the residents of Chariton and surrounding areas.

She shows a commitment and enthusiasm to furthering her education by completing extensive continued education courses each year. These include a fellowship in orthodontics and numerous courses in the areas of implant restorations, occlusion, smile design, full mouth rehabilitation, treatment planning, and Invisalign treatment.

Dr. Thomas grew up in Bedford, Iowa, a small town in Southwest Iowa. She then went to Colorado State University for her bachelor’s degree. Dr. Thomas played division one basketball for the Rams in Fort Collins, serving as the captain her senior year. She enjoys sports, being active, and spending time with her family. She is blessed with a wonderful husband and three children.

Dr. Michael Loew is originally from a rural community in NW Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics in 2014. Upon graduation, Dr. Loew served in the United States Air Force. At his first duty station, Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE, Dr. Loew completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD-1) program which focused on expanding his knowledge in all dental specialties including oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics and periodontics. Following completion of the AEGD program, Dr. Loew was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, KS, for three years.

After his time in the Air Force, Dr. Loew felt compelled to return to his rural roots and deliver the high-quality dental care that rural people deserve. Dr. Loew now lives in Chariton, IA, with his wife, Nicole, and their three children, Annabelle, Fletcher, and Forrest. Dr. Loew has been serving the community since 2018. When he is not working, you will find Dr. Loew hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, hiking, or gardening. He has also made it his personal goal to visit every National Park in the US.
